Like my daughter, Honor aged 6, I love a good sheet mask. My awful dry and dehydrated winter skin is desperate for some TLC and masks are just the ticket! They brighten, tighten and moisturise and the best part is they deliver visible results immediately. They also force you to sit back and relax. So if like Honor, you've had a long hard week of school, snow days and play dates, pop a face mask on and sit back and chillax - cucumbers optional.
Elle's Edit: Top 5 Sheet Masks
2. SKII Facial Treatment Mask $17
One of Japans best selling products, this mask, I can assure you, is worth the hype (and the price tag). This 100 percent cotton mask drenches the skin with pitera’s fusion of vitamin, amino acids, minerals, and organic acids, while working to revitalize, comfort, and provide intense hydration. It immediately replenishes dehydrated skin, leaving it refreshed and cool. In a word amazing.
I love this mask especially for a big night out (not that I've been out for about 2 years with a baby in tow but a girl can dream). So whether it's a hot date or just because, I can firmly testify to this sheet mask leaving your skin smooth, hydrated, primed and ready for a layer of foundation. My skin felt plump and my makeup went on flawlessly and at $7 it's a total bargain.
Facialist fairy godmother to Hollywood starlets such as Jessica Alba, Naomi Watts, Dakota Johnson to name a few! Joanna Vargas is a name to know when it comes to facialists in NYC. But there's no need to worry if getting an appointment isn't an option as she has a wonderful line of insanely gorgeous and glow-y face making products available to all. Her face masks I can personally endorse and a favourite is The Eden Instant Lift Mask - I actually did this one this morning and I can confirm my skin feels firm smooth and amazing. Applied to freshly dried skin, you then squeeze the remaining serum out of the packet and use on your neck, décolletage and hands, which I have to say feels rather good too. An advanced hydration treatment mask that diminishes wrinkles and promotes the youthful vitality of the skin it contains yummy organic ingredients such as Cherry Blossom Extract - A powerful anti-inflammatory. Cabbage Rose Extract - Improves circulation & strengthen capillary walls, Stem Cell Extract - From the rare green swiss apple.
So full disclosure you have to be completely topless when applying this mask, as there is a lot of sticky serum thats obviously not great for clothing. Also this is not the mask for you, if you intend to multi task and say vacuum the living room No, you have to sit, or preferably lie, down to avoid the mask falling off (as I discovered) and RELAX as this mask is just glorious. Covering, yes you've guessed it, your neck and chest. This hydrating and soothing mask truly leaves your skin visibly brighter and softer.

Think you can't wear yellow? Think again! From mellow yellow to banana yellow and from mustard yellow to chartreuse, the spring/summer2017 runway, ran the gamut of this sunshine shade. There's a shade of this cheery hue that will work for you, whatever your skin tone.
Style tip: If you don't fancy wearing yellow head to toe. Pair neutrals such as black or white to ground the look (as above). OR if you do fancy it but it's your first time, try mixing it up with a floral print and yellow base.

Hollywood’s biggest stars hit the red carpet at tonights' 2017 Academy Awards in Los Angeles. Watching from my sofa, wearing my yoga pants and eating Thai take-out, I chose my top 10 picks for the best dressed of what is one of the biggest fashion moments of the year.
New York Fashion Week FW2017 is upon us and in typical Fashion week style it's snowy, rainy and freezing but the show must go on!
My 5 wearable favourites so far:
1. Maxi dress + Knee high boots
Cold ankles, nobody wants them, but it's the age old problem of what to wear on your feet with a midi dress in winter. Fear no more! Ulla Johnson has solved everything by simply pairing a pair of knee high boots with said dress. I'm loving the slouchiness of the boots and the wonderful autumnal colours but also check out how she pairs a floral dress with basic black.
Ryan Roche's collection is always so delicious and her neutral palette so dreamy. My favourite takeaway was the easy to wear tailored trousers paired with a ribbed sweater in a tonal palette: Think blush, creams, greys and even black.
3. Denim on Denim: I have mentioned multiple times how much I love a Canadian tuxedo and clearly so does Raf Simons, Calvin Klein's new Creative Director. What I love about this look is how tailored the denim looks and the layered turtleneck. SO COOL!
4. Fun with Jeans: My good friends' mum always uses the phrase "ooh fun with jeans" which I think is the perfect way to describe that perfect top that's going to fit neatly into your life (and obviously with your jeans). Jonathan SImkhai's recent and successful dive into denim doesn't disappoint and neither does his fun with jeans blouse!
Uber chic line Ayr have a new jean called 'The Form' - high rise, cropped and in a super shade of 'worn-out to perfection' blue, they look fantastic, but they also have a secret U.S.P. (unique selling point); They literally make your bottom look unbelievable, and who doesn't want that?!
Here's how: Now as a vertically challenged person, at 5'1", I'm a huge fan of the high rise silhouette. A higher waist line = an optical illusion of lengthening ones limbs, but what you may not know is that they also emphasise the smallest part of your waist, and as a result, naturally makes your hips and backside appear curvier. 'The Form' not only ticks this box but adds to it, with a close body fit and stiffer fabric that holds your derriere up and out to peachy perfection. Errr SOLD!!
I really do love my Woolrich Parka coat - practical and oh SO warm but during the week it just isn't going to work... for work. Step in 'My secret ways to stay warm but still chic with smart and subtle layers' catchy right?
1. My absolute favourite is my ultra lightweight puffa vest by Canada Goose in black which literally works under every coat (or your favourite leather jacket - see above!) but also adds a touch of perfectly acceptable Ath-Leisure - I also like it in red for such moments.
2. Another winter staple of mine is Uniqlo's HEAT TECH line. I love the opaque tights and also the HEAT TECH camisole that slips under the thinest of turtlenecks and keeps me beyond snug. Uniqlo also does a fantastic kids line - Honor (my 6 year old) refuses to wear anything but their HEAT TECH leggings as they are also super comfortable (currently on sale for $5.90!).
4. Over the knee leather boots that slip comfortably over your skinny pants or under a wool maxi dress (another great warm but chic piece). Stuart Weitzman is really the king when it comes to boots - the Lowland is my favourite.

Here are the top three styles you need this season AND how to wear them. Click on the items to shop.
Outfit 1. The Bootie
Cropped jeans are trending, so it's essential to find a shoe or boot that works with your new must-have denim. Enter the bootie. Whether they're cut to the ankle or slightly above, they are the perfect partner for your new style of pants. Plus they keep your ankles warm!
Outfit 2. The Kitten Heel
I love a kitten heel - and yes I truly didn't think I'd be uttering those words after steering clear of them for roughly 15 years! But enough about my age. These little beauties are back and look incredible with a rolled up boyfriend jean and your classic blue button down shirt. Comfort all the way.
Outfit 3. The Platform Sandal
Yes it's winter I hear you cry but worn in velvet and paired with opaque or black ribbed socks these shoes are going to add a next level of chic-dom. Keep your look feminine but add an edge with a leather biker jacket or vice versa ie Pair them with jeans and a feminine top.
Before splurging on a fashion item I like to think of 3 potential outfits that will work with it, and therefore justify, my new purchase. However, the wonderful thing about a classic bag is that not only will they go with every outfit you can possibly imagine BUT they are basically on-trend FOREVER. Hurrah! Now Get Shopping!
I do love a bit of Old Navy for Kids, if you shop it right you can find some real gems and you cannot beat the prices - especially when they're on sale!!!

Baby Boy (or Girl)
How cute is this little road map tee?! Pair it perfectly with versatile stripes,
I love a Liberty style floral print and this sweet collared blouse is adorable! Pair with soft neutrals and add a pop of colour with shoes (or socks).
Add a bright statement tee to easy and comfortable basics.
Vintage inspired floral prints are not only gorgeous but they're perfect for hiding stains when they drop half their dinner down themselves! I also wish the cat shoes came in my size!
Statement sweatshirts brighten up cool skinny jeans and skater sneaks.
Mix prints: Treat graphic prints like neutrals (yes that includes leopard) and pair together for a fresh look that could work for any age.
Charcoal sweatpants: Tophop | White t: Hanes | Cream Knit: Theory | Black Biker Jacket: Topshop | Wayfarer sunglasses: Ray-ban | White canvas sneakers: Maison Kitsune (only one pair left so try these by Superga)
Wearing sweatpants out of the house (and not just on a Sunday) is totally allowed in my book as long as they comply with the following rules:
Rule 1. They are grey or black.
Rule 2. They are tapered at the ankle.
Rule 3. Your pretend they aren't actually sweatpants.
And by Rule 3. I mean you should try to envision that your joggers are tailored trousers or jeans because this is really the secret to successfully wearing these wonder-pants out of the house. You have to elevate them by pairing them with simple but chic pieces as you would your favourite denim.
Outfit 1. Sunday Morning Sweatpants
Pair them with chic pieces: It doesn't come more tailored or classic than the button down shirt; Blue, white or striped works wonderfully with your joggers! For extra style points, try half tucking when worn alone or have it peaking it out from underneath a neat knit.
Outfit 3. Saturday Shopping Sweatpants
Fully embrace ath-leisure and pair with a printed sweatshirt, chic white sneakers and fashion staple, the bomber jacket.
Ugh January. Ugh New Years Resolutions! I'm sure, like me, yours involved some form of exercise. The weather right now (in NYC) is hardly inspiring which brings me to the one thing guaranteed to get me more motivated - An active wear re-amp!
Check out my edit below including:
1. New workout wear / athleisure brand to know LNDR. London based design that focuses on functionality AND form.
2. Winter worthy sneakers: How cute are the pink Nikes below? Not only will they cheer you up for colder days but they're developed for extreme comfort and super lightweight wear. The grey fly marled mesh sneakers (a bargain at $95) are designed to keep your feet dry during work outs - perfect for running outdoors. The black Ascend sneakers by APL: Athletic Propulsion Labs, not only work with every outfit but they're ultra cushioned making them perfect for intense workout classes.
3. I'm always in a head to toe work out uniform of black but it feels good to mix it up with figure flattering colours - greys, navys and burgundies. If you can't let go of black try adding colour with your water bottle, socks or even undies!
Velvet wrap skirt: ASOS | Plum ribbed turtleneck: Joe's Jeans | Shearling bag: Brother Vellies (similar here) | Pink suede lace up boots: Brother Vellies | Shearling jacket : ASOS | Gold locket: Vintage (similar here)
Velvet adorned many a runway for Fall 16 and I'm sure you've seen it popping up in all of the stores. I have a lot of friends who insist that it should be left where it belongs "In the 90's!" But I'm afraid the 90s are BACK people!!! Don't worry I'm not going to suggest you dig out that velvet bodysuit, we all owned (although I still love mine), but I am going to ask you give velvet another go. It really is all about how you style it I promise!
Style Tip 1: Accessorise
A good rule to embrace for most trends that seem a little intimidating is to try it out with a shoe or bag. It's a great way to freshen up your wardrobe and update a look without going the whole hog.
Style Tip 2:
Let the velvet be the statement piece.
Don't style velvet with velvet (the exception here is a pant suit). But welcome other textures, prints, lace, satin, denim, shearling, suede, fur...
Emma Stone, nominee for her role in the romantic musical 'La La Land', stole the show at the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, wearing my absolute favourite designer Valentino. Described by the actress as "pink with stars on it" the stunning nude and metallic gown was styled with Tiffany & Co. jewels.
Michelle Williams, nominee for her role in 'Manchester by the Sea', wearing Louis Vuitton. The lace shoulder baring gown fitted her to perfection and the super chic bow choker paired with her pale blonde slicked back bob was stunning.
Ruth Negga, nominee for her role in 'Loving,' wearing a stunning sequin body hugging gown by Louis Vuitton. It's so hard to do sequins and not look like a christmas tree but Ruth nails it with a smokey eye, a subtle cuff and her cool cropped hair.
Sienna Miller, one of tonight's Golden Globe presenters, rarely gets it wrong and tonight was no exception. The actor wore a figure hugging all white cut-out gown by Michael Kors Collection. I especially loved her cute fuss free pony tail with a black bow tied in it - do I spy a trend?
Natalie Portman, nominee for her role in Pablo Larrain's biopic 'Jackie', wearing a beautiful beautiful chartreuse Prada gown with vintage Tiffany & Co. diamonds. Going any where pregnant is a feat in itself, let alone onto a red carpet at the Golden Globes and Natalie looks truly stunning.
Confession: I try to avoid washing my hair at all costs for 3 reasons:
1. I am lazy. 2. I hate blow-drying my hair (also see reason 1.) 3. To stop my blonde hair colour from fading.
But I can no longer cite Reason 3. as an excuse, thanks to the miraculous Blonde Angel by Kevin Murphy. Paraben- and sulfate free, this colour enhancing wonder treatment is applied on freshly washed hair for ONE MINUTE!!! That's right girls not 10, not 5, but 1!!!!!!! Because lets face it who has the time, or the inclination, for really deep conditioning ones hair for over 60 sweet seconds! Anyway, I swear this is the most exciting hair product that has EVER come into contact with my bleached blonde locks! It was INSTANTLY amazing, a friend even commented on how new my hair colour looked. And it gets better, my blonde hair was not only brightened but revived as the treatment also deep conditions and repairs!! I realise that at $45 the price seems a little steep but it has lasted for months and months (a little goes a long way), I can't even remember when I bought it. Seriously, the only way to improve upon this unicorn hair of my dreams treatment would be for Kevin Murphy to pop out of the bottle to come blow out my hair on a Monday morning!
For all you non-blondes out there (please don't think I've forgotten you!) Kevin Murphy also does an equally wonderful Angel. MASQUE which revives colour, protects and promotes growth - sometimes I mix it into my Blonde Angel for an even more intense condition.
Check out all of his fantastic products
