Resort/Cruise 2018, which ever you wish to call it, has been walking the runway over the last few days, and getting me totally into the summer spirit. Obviously with an emphasis on destination, Christian Dior found itself the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Open Space Preserve in dusty Calabasas, California, Vuitton in the Miho Museum in Japan and Chanel in 'ancient' Greece. And the clothes?
At Dior, artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri. continues to create clothes every woman wants (and can wear) from the white chiffon dresses, moto jackets paired with maxi dresses, and skirts made purely of tulle and pompoms - well maybe that last one is a bit of a stretch as wardrobe staples go, but It's certainly on my hit list, and she does pop a belted sweater over it!
At Vuitton, we saw Ghesquiere's typically sharp tailoring but with layers of print and colour. Takeaways? Grab your striped button down shirt and pair with your soon to be staple tailored track pants, throw some leopard print in there for good measure. white t's layered under maxi-dresses and don't forget the "badass attitude" and eyeliner!
Chanel, saw perhaps the most destination-ready collection with printed maxi dresses, layers of jewellery and fab lace up sandals. Just show me the beach!
