They don't get much yummier than the British born icon of French chic, Jane Birkin. And you clearly don't have to be a mum to recreate her look, which is what's so wonderful (a woman shouldn't have to change her style just because she gave birth!). But what's also so great about Jane's style is that it's ultimately a uniform that many mums can adopt; it's chic, functional and composed of interchangeable, basics that allow you to move around seamlessly with bébé in tow! One of my favourite Birkin looks is of her, in her kitchen with her two daughters Kate and Charlotte, wearing a basic polka dot t + wide leg trousers. So easy to replicate! -but I love the retro tweaks with the higher waisted wide leg pant! (check out the sailor pants below by it-designer Jesse Kamme, that come in a variety of colors) Pair yours with a fitted denim spring topper jacket, chic & easy flats and a french-mummy must have, a basket 'hands-free' bag.
